Currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Applications for our client in either Memphis, TN or Dublin, OH. This is a direct-hire opportunity to join a large, stable, and well respected organization that is a leader in their field.
The successful candidate will possess experience overseeing the strategic direction of application development within a large-scale environment consisting of several hundred IT staff.
Position Overview
Reporting directly to the CIO, this position is responsible for managing a high performance team of 5 VP?s overseeing a global suite of applications. Responsible for providing a new generation of content, methodology, professional mindset, and technology to equip corporate and operations departments with the tools and capabilities to perform a truly world-class engagement. Responsible for effectively communicating with all stakeholders including IT functions (development, testing, architects, business analysts) as well as operational and executive management to set and accomplish aggressive goals. In addition to day-to-day management of people and systems, responsible for strategic long-term planning efforts to improve delivery models, monitoring tools, support metrics and overall product quality.
Responsibilities:
Provide decisive and effective technical leadership for application enhancement and support efforts.
Define and implement the overall project and support strategy and operating model for a large scale globally deployed line of business solution suite that includes custom developed and COTS products.
Establish and manage an onsite/offshore operating model
Leverage past experience and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders including clients, senior management, IT staff, and operations
Create, operationalize and execute industry best practices within area of responsibility.
Develop operational forecast and budget for application support group and manage expenses to budget goals.
Ensure tight collaboration for problem resolution across the various program functions.
Solicit constructive input from and build consensus among groups and constituencies with differing priorities and perspectives.
Minimize schedule and technical risk by foreseeing and addressing obstacles proactively and aggressively.
Define and implement robust monitoring and reporting around the software maintenance and support activities. Metrics should be defined, captured, analyzed and reported that track overall systems quality, stability, performance and operation, and extent of use across the enterprise
Experience:
15 years technical experience in application development, maintenance & production support in a large scale complex global organization
8 years managing multiple teams that performs large scale software engineering and/or support, including business analysts, development, testing architecture and change management functions
Extensive experience defining overall maintenance and support strategy in a large product environment
Demonstrated ability balancing costs, risks, and schedule
Experience managing distributed or client-server applications developed on following Microsoft & Java technologies and COTS products
Experience with defining and executing strategies and approaches around code/systems configuration management, patch/maintenance releases for large-scale applications (COTS and custom)
Summary
